Added money to wallet by mistake? Here’s what you should do next

Don’t fret if you have added money to your Paytm wallet by mistake. The amount added to your wallet can always be used across all the various services we offer here at Paytm. However, there is a service available exclusively to full KYC users, wherein you can refund the amount, back to your source account.

Here’s are the steps to follow:

  • To return the amount to your source bank account, simply go to the transaction in your passbook and tap on the 'Return To Bank' option
  • Tap on confirm and the amount will be refunded to your source bank account.
  •  It may take up to 7 working days (it's usually much sooner) for the refund to be processed.

However, if you do not see this option, that means you have not activated the option for return to source. To activate your return to source option, just follow these simple steps:

  • Tap on the menu option at the top-left corner of your screen
  • Tap on ‘My Payment Settings’
  • Tap on 'Settings' option under 'My Payment Settings'
  • Scroll down to the 'Add Money' section'
  • Enable the 'Add money refund back to source' option

Once you enable this option, you will see the option to "Return To Bank" in your Wallet passbook.
