Why did the Gift Voucher purchase fail

Gift Vouchers (GV) are a great way to make payments or even as a gift to a friend or family member. Purchasing GV on Paytm is instant where the amount is added immediately to your GV. However, sometimes you might experience difficulties purchasing these on Paytm. Here are some of the probable reasons why this might be happening:

  • Failed payment: A payment can fail due to many reasons including incorrect CVV/OTP, no/delayed response from your bank etc. Kindly note that, in case money is deducted from your account and your GV purchase fails, the complete amount would be refunded back to your account.
  • Active GV Count: You can keep as many as 20 active GVs in your account. In this case, you will not be able to purchase another one as long as you or the intended recipient of the gift voucher have 20 active GVs.
  • Total GV Balance : You can keep a total gift voucher balance of no more than Rs 100,000 at any point in time

Please revisit all these checkpoints, and if none of the points mentioned above fall under the reason for which you are unable to purchase a GV, please write to us with a screenshot of the error being displayed on the screen. We will get it checked for you.
